Goodbye, Madeleine L'Engle. You'll be missed.
My friend and I were sitting around on Friday night, talking about all Madeleine L'Engle meant to us as children and all she means to us now. I found a wonderful interview with her in Newsweek, and we read it aloud together as a sort of weak memorial.
I loved very much that she said this:
Sometimes [I] think God is a shit —- and he wouldn’t be worth it otherwise. He’s much more interesting when he’s a shit.
